I think this is a great product for the price. It came in very handy during the holidays because it was very easy for my children to use, clean and store.

The two things in the world I love...appliances and tools! You figure it out. I couldn't have imagined how any appliance can compare to Kitchenaid, but this one is in the same category. Don't hesitate thinking it's hype. This machine is really strong and it's RED!
Best hand mixer I've ever bought!

This Sunbeam mixer is one of the best hand mixers I have used in my 55 years in the kitchen.
(I started cooking when I was almost 14.)
It's comfortable to hold and easy to set down on the back side of the mixer. It's nice to look
at and it's a workhorse when you need it with 6 speeds and a 250 watt motor..when you need that
extra "Boost of power", trust me...it's there!
It's worth FIVE STARS in my opinion but I wanted to give it four and a half stars beccause I think
the base that it stores in could be just a little better than it is. In theory you're supposed to be
able to wrap the cord inside the bottom of the base but in reality it's not quite as easy to do as it
should be. That doesn't take away from the terrific performance of this Sunbeam 2560 Heritage Mixer.
I'm thrilled with it. |

Very nice and well designed. Like the storage stand which our old mixer did not have. Very strong and still easy to use. Too bad that our old beaters will not fit this new unit, but that's all right. Very good service from Amazon. It came in sooner than we expected. Very good.

VERY NICE HAND MIXER REAL SHARP LOOOKING. I ORDERED IT BECAUSE MY OLD ONE BROKE AND WANTED TO REPLACE IT ASAP. HOWEVER, IF I WOULD HAVE WAITED A LITTLE LONGER I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME HAND MIXER WITH ADDITIONAL PARTS AT THE SAME PRICE.

This is a great mixer! Lots of power and doesn't seem like it will burn out fast (a common problem I've had with hand mixers). Only thing I don't like is that the low speed is still pretty high. Overall I love it. Stylish and works great! And it was delivered very quickly!
Nice unit

I bought this primarily because of its color. I like its stand that gives it a stable place to sit. The photos make it look cordless, but it is not which suits me fine. It has worked well the few times I have used it. The beaters have really deep anchors and do not eject easily. Actually, they are a pain to eject. However, that is fairly minor since I generally only do that once per use. Maybe they will get easier over time. The speed control feels a bit pointed to eject the beaters and it hurts my thumb to press it so hard. It has worked like a champ in beating cakes and cookie batter for me. The ejection problem would not cause me to not purchase it again, but it did rank it down one star.
Just one complaint

I really like this mixer. It's attractive, compact and takes up little room on my counter, powerful, and seems like it will be long lasting. However, the beaters are rather difficult to eject. I'm used to a seperate eject button and having the beaters pop out, however with this one, you have to pull them out. I don't use a mixer all that often tho, so I can live with it since I like the other features.

Great handheld mixer. Comes in real handy when you don't want to pull the 'big' mixer out. The only drawback was that my batter 'splashed' a little as opposed to using a standard sized mixer -- however, all in all, I highly recommend it and find it extremely convenient.

I bought this unit just before Christmas 2008, it died today in the middle of mixing cake batter...not sure why, it just died. I gave it 4 stars because I would have expected it to last a little longer. I do a lot of baking but use my KA stand mixer for heavy batters and doughs and use this one for cake batter and mashed potatoes only. That aside, this mixer has been a trooper for me (until today!) and I didnt have the problems I see in other reviews with splattering or difficulty in ejecting the beaters. I only gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 because of the relatively short life span--I have gotten more longevity from $10 bargain store mixers.

about same as others I've used recently -- not as good as in past

I had expected it to perform better than less expensive mixers -- it does not. As reported in other reviews, the difficulty of ejecting the beaters is a flaw.

Works but Bad Design

This mixer works - I've had it about 2 years now.
Negatives: The difference between the lowest and highest speeds is very narrow - sometimes I need a much slower speed to start. The biggest negative is the beater ejection. Horrible! Very difficult and it still hasn't gotten any easier over the two + years I've used it - very bad design. Another thing is that the beaters have started to rust - I do put them in the dishwasher.
Positives: The motor has held up fine, the cord is a nice length and the unit wipes clean easily after use.
Would not buy again. |
Returned it unfortunately - too hard to eject beaters

Within 5 minutes after opening, we decided we had to return it. The push button to eject the beaters was just too difficult .
So we never used it, but the unit did feel very sturdy and well built.

Don't buy this mixer, unless you like cleaning up your entire kitchen after you are through using it. This mixer workmanship is great. The color could not be better. I do not use the stand so I cannot comment on it. The problem is the LOW speed is not low enough. Think medium to high. It slings whatever you are trying to mix all over the walls, the coffee maker, and you. I have used it to make mashed potatoes, cakes, and icing. I have tried smaller bowls and larger bowls. It is always the same- a mess.
Looks pretty

This is a very attractive mixer but I have found it to be very impractical and am looking to replace it. It does not have a true slow speed - it flings batter around so much at the lowest speed that my dog immediately comes running when I use it, licking his chops. The beaters are annoyingly difficult to eject, and the unit is heavier and more cumbersome than other mixers I have had. I find myself yearning for the old "vintage" turquoise GE hand mixer with a variable speed wheel on top. In fact, I may just get one from an antique dealer. I am frustrated to death with this thing.
